September 6 (SeeNews) - Romanian largest cosmetics maker, Farmec, said on Tuesday it has invested 500,000 euro ($497,999) in developing a new skin care product line.
The new line will include four serums and two face moisturizing creams, Farmec said in a press release.
The invested amount was used to fund research, design and marketing for the new product line, which primarily addresses young people, as the company is aiming to reduce the average age of the its target market.
"People are now learning more than ever before about products and manufacturing procedures. They also want brands to be transparent and reliable. Thus, the tendency toward pure, concentrated goods with active components that provide visible results is also present in the cosmetics industry," Farmec marketing director Tudor David said.
Farmec is headquartered in the northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca, where it has a production plant with over 730 employees.
The company owns 28 stores in major Romanian cities and sells its products in around 30 countries.
