January 27 (SeeNews) - Railway operator CFR said that it will invest 52.37 million lei ($11.6 million/10.7 million euro) in the rehabilitation of several railway segments and level crossings in western Romania.
Works on the Banita - Merisor - Crivadia and Banita - Petrosani railway sections will be worth 42.66 million lei, according social media post made by CFR on Thursday.
The second part of the investment, totaling 9.74 million lei, will be allocated for modernisation works on six railway level crossings in the western county of Timis.
According to the railway operator, funding for the two investments will be provided from the state budget.
Last week, CFR launched a tender worth 471 million lei in the national acquisition system, SEAP, for the modernisation of the Bucharest North train station.
