March 27 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said on Tuesday that the plant's Unit 1 was reconnected to the grid.
On Sunday morning, Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 was shut down in a controlled manner following a defect in one of the process systems of the power plant, Nuclearelectrica said in a filing to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.
The repair works had no adverse impact on the personnel, the population or the environment, the company stressed.
On Monday, the plant's Unit 2 returned to full power, following a 55% power reduction on Sunday morning caused by the necessity to replace a component of the condensation pump engine, in the classical part of the power plant.
During the power reduction, Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 was connected to the national power grid and operated at a power of 300 MW.
Nuclearelectrica shares traded 0.36% higher at 8.32 lei by 1253 CET on the Bucharest Stock Exchange The energy ministry owns a 82.4% stake in the company.
