October 15 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said on Monday that the plant's Unit 2 will run at reduced power due to repairs works that will be completed in 12 hours.
Repair works will be carried out at a water tank related to the turbogenerator in the classical part of the power plant, Nuclearelectrica said in a statement.
Unit 2 will operate at a reduced power of some 300-350 MW during the 12-hour period starting at 13:00 local time (1000 GMT).
The controlled power reduction and the completion of the repair works will be carried out under full safety conditions, in compliance with the specific procedures of the power plant, the company added.
Nuclearelectrica shares traded flat at 7.69 lei ($1.9/ 1.7 euro by 1051 CET on Monday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The energy ministry owns a 82.4% stake in Nuclearelectrica.
