September 4 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said on Tuesday that the plant's Unit 2 will be disconnected from the grid for repairs on September 5.
The unit will be shut down for 72 hours starting at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT) in order to perform repair works at the bridge of the fuel loading and unloading machine, Nuclearelectrica said in a press release.
The controlled outage and the repair works will be completed under full safety conditions in compliance with the procedures of the power plant, the company added.
Nuclearelectrica shares traded 0.41% higher at 7.34 lei by 1401 CET on Tuesday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The energy ministry owns a 82.4% stake in Nuclearelectrica.
