June 4 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Cernavoda, said on Monday that the plant's Unit 1 was reconnected to the national grid following a planned outage.
The unit was disconnected from the grid on May 2 as part of scheduled inspection and maintenance works, Nuclearelectrica said in a bourse filing.
All works related to the planned works were performed in compliance with the regulations for the nuclear safety of the staff of the power plant, the public and the environment, as per the procedures used at Cernavoda NPP, Nuclearelectrica said.
In March, both of the NPP's two operational units, 1 and 2, were automatically disconnected from the grid due to technical failures.
Romania's energy ministry holds a 82.49% stake in Nuclearelectrica.
