August 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's current account balance showed a deficit of 2.745 billion euro ($3.22 billion) in the first six months of 2017, compared to a gap of 1.958 billion euro a year earlier, the central bank said on Monday, citing provisional data.
Deficit in trade in goods increased by 1.05 billion euro, whereas the secondary income and services surpluses narrowed by 247 million euro and 51 million euro, respectively, the central bank said in a balance of payments report. The deficit on primary income contracted by 562 million euro.
In 2016, Romania's current account deficit increased to 4.11 billion euro, from 1.94 billion euro in 2015.
