April 28 (SeeNews) - The Romanian city of Braila has opened a tender for the procurement of water meter manholes chambers for the water supply network, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced on Friday.
Braila municipality, in eastern Romania, will buy water meter manhole chambers fitted for smart meters, the EBRD said in a tender notice posted on its website.
Local authorities intend to use part of the proceeds of an 8.8 million euro ($9.5 million) loan extended by the EBRD in 2011 to finance the regional water investment programme, RCF2.
Tendering for contracts that are to be financed with the proceeds of the EBRD loan is open to firms from any country.
The closing date of the tender is June 19, 2017.
The EBRD has invested more than 7.3 billion euro in 384 projects in Romania to date. In addition, it has mobilised more than 14 billion euro in investment from other sources of financing in Romania alone.
