August 1 (SeeNews) - Romanian low-cost carrier Blue Air and Lidl Tour said on Wednesday they will launch a seasonal direct route from Bucharest to Morocco's Marrakech, starting November 3.
The route will be operated once a week on Saturdays until January 5, 2019, the two companies said in a joint press release.
"Being one of the country's economic centers, there is tremendous potential in Marrakech, both in terms of travel and business travel, and we are excited to add the direct flight Bucharest - Marrakech to our offer," Blue Air commercial director Tudor Constantinescu said.
Lidl Tour is the tourism agency of German discount supermarket chain Lidl.
Blue Air, the only air carrier in Romania with 100% Romanian capital, started operations in December 2004. In 2013, it was taken over by Airline Management Solutions Company in a 30 million euro ($35 million) deal.
The air carrier has bases in Romania, Italy, the United Kingdom and Cyprus and has a fleet of 29 aircraft. Blue Air operates flights to more than 100 destinations in 18 countries.
