May 18 (SeeNews) - Romanian hospitality sector equipment importer Bilancia said on Wednesday it targets a 15% rise in 2022 turnover to 23 million euro ($24.17 million).
The company estimates a rebound in the hospitality market, in spite of the inflationary context and the Ukraine conflict, particularly for the healthy catering sector, it said in a press release.
In the first quarter of this year, the company posted a 10% annual increase in turnover to 5 million euro.
"The hospitality industry saw a contraction of approximately 18% in 2020, the first year of the pandemic, compared to 2019. The last year brought a market-wide rebound equal to approximately half of the loss," Bilancia CEO Luca Neagu said.
"Our expectations for 2022, based on forecasts and calculations, are that by the end of December the difference will have been covered and the market may even exceed 2019 levels."
Founded in 1992, Bilancia is an importer and distributor of professional equipment for the hospitality industry. The company has over 270 partners, spread across 27 countries, as well as a roster of approximately 92,000 products.
Bilancia booked a net profit of 7.75 million lei ($1.65 million/1.56 million euro) in 2020, as well as a total turnover of 74.58 million lei, according to latest data available on the finance ministry's website.
