June 23 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 10.1% year-on-year to 296.3 billion lei ($72 billion/60 billion euro) in May, compared to a 8.3% growth in April, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
Private lending in lei increased by 15.4% on the year to 209 billion lei in May, after growing by 13.5% in April, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency fell 1% on the year to 87.1 billion lei in May, compared to a 2.3% drop in April.
