February 25 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 6.9% year-on-year to 269.6 billion lei ($60.8 billion/56.08 billion euro) in January, compared to a 6.6% growth in December, the central bank, BNR, said on Tuesday.
Private lending in lei increased by 10% on the year to 181.4 billion lei in January, after growing by 9.3% in December, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose by 1.1% to 88.2 billion lei in January, compared to a 1.3% rise in December.
