May 28 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 8.3% year-on-year to 293.6 billion lei ($72.7 billion/59.7 billion euro) in April, compared to a 6.6% growth in March, the central bank, BNR, said.
Private lending in lei increased by 13.5% on the year to 206.4 billion lei in April, after growing by 11.3% in March, BNR said in a statement on Thursday.
Private lending in foreign currency fell 2.3% on the year to 87.1 billion lei in April, compared to a 3% drop in March.
