May 25 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 6.8% year-on-year to 238.3 billion lei ($60 billion/51 billion euro) in April, compared to 6.1% growth in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Private lending in lei increased by 16.2% on the year to 152.6 billion lei in April following a rise of 15.9% in March, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency decreased by 6.7% to 85.7 billion lei, compared to a 7.7% drop in March.
