November 24 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 6.7% year-on-year to 233 billion lei ($59.5 billion/50.2 billion euro) in October, following a 7.3% increase in September, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Private lending in lei increased 16.5% on the year to 143 billion lei in October, following a rise of 17.1% in September, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency decreased 5.9% to 89.7 billion lei, compared to a 5.3% drop in September.
