July 23 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 7.1% year-on-year to 259.57 billion lei ($61.4 billion/54.9 billion euro) in June, compared to a 7.7% growth in May, the central bank, BNR, said on Tuesday.
Private lending in lei increased by 9.6% on the year to 172.7 billion lei in June following a rise of 10.3% in May, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose by 2.4% to 86.7 billion lei, compared to a 3% rise in May.
