March 26 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 8% year-on-year to 251.9 billion lei ($60 billion/53 billion euro) in February, compared to a 8.4% growth in January, the central bank, BNR, said on Tuesday.
Private lending in lei increased by 12.7% on the year to 165 billion lei in February following a rise of 12.8% in January, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency edged down by 0.01% to 87.2 billion lei, compared to a 0.9% rise in January.
