May 27 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 5.7% year-on-year to 271 billion lei ($61.5 billion/55.9 billion euro) in April, compared to a 6.9% growth in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
Private lending in lei increased by 7.4% on the year to 181.9 billion lei in April, after growing by 9.2% in March, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose by 2.3% to 89.1 billion lei in April, compared to a 2.6% rise in March.
