August 24 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian bank deposits by the non-government sector rose 12.2% on the year to 257.1 billion lei ($65.3 billion/57.6 euro) in July, easing from a 12.3% increase in the previous month, the country's central bank, BNR said on Wednesday.
Leu deposits rose by an annual 15% to 172.5 billion lei in July, decelerating from an 15.3% increase in the previous month, BNR said in its monetary statistics report.
On the other hand, the annual growth in foreign currency deposits accelerated from 6.7% in June to 6.9% in July, when they amounted to 84.6 billion lei.
