May 25 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-government sector in Romanian banks grew 9.7% on the year in April, to 527.3 billion lei ($114.2 billion/106.5 billion euro), after rising 9.5% in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
Leu deposits increased 19.3% on the year in April, reaching 357.7 billion lei, compared to a 17.8% annual growth rate in March, the BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits dropped 6.1% on the year to 169.5 billion lei in April, after contracting by 4.1% the month before.
