October 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's Banca Transilvania (BT) [BSE:TLV] said on Monday that it has repurchased a total of 1,582,337 own shares in the period September 30-October 4 .
Banca Transilvania paid a total of some 3.8 million lei ($871,000/801,000 euro) for the share repurchases during the review period, the lender said in a bourse filing.
Last month, Banca Transilvania said it will seek to buy back a total of 15 million of its own shares for up to 60 million lei.The bank will offer to pay a minimum price equal to the market price on the Bucharest bourse at the moment of the purchase and 4 lei at most, the bank said at the time.
The programme will run until the end of 2019.
The bank's capital is divided into 5,215,917,925 shares with a par value of 1 leu each, according bourse data.
As at 14:35 CET on Tuesday, Banca Transilvania shares traded at 2.40 lei, unchanged from their previous closing price on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
