May 31 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 3,956 residential building permits in April, down 15.5% on the year, the national statistics office, INS, said on Tuesday.
As many as 69% of the permits issued were for sites located in rural areas, the INS said as part of a monthly report.
The regional distribution indicates a drop in the number of construction permits issued for residential buildings, compared to April 2021, across all areas of development - the north-east, the west, southern Muntenia, south-western Oltenia, the south-east, the north-west, all sectors of Bucuresti-Ilfov, as well as the central region.
The INS has not provided a figure for the value of the permits which have been issued.
Romania issued 51,287 building permits for residential projects in 2021, up 24.1% year-on-year.
