December 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's anti-trust regulator said on Monday it is looking into the takeover of local companies Ecoenergia and Alive Capital by Cyprus-based natural gas provider and distributor Premier Energy.
In order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with the normal competitive environment, the Competition Council will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation, the antitrust body said in a statement.

Premier Energy P.L.C. will take over Alive Capital through its local subsidiary Premier Energy SRL, while Ecoenergia will be acquired directly by the Cyprus-based company.
Ecoenergia is a wind power producer which operates a 34.5 MW wind farm in Stejaru, Tulcea county.
Alive Capital is active on the Romanian electricity and gas markets as a producer, supplier and trader. The company also provides integrated management services to renewable energy producers in Romania.
Premier Energy P.L.C. is a holding company with direct and indirect holdings in various companies in Romania and Moldova. In Romania, Premier Energy P.L.C. owns Premier Energy SRL, Ligatne Gas, B.E.R.G. Gas System and Premier Energy Trading.
