March 17 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said on Tuesday that it will look into the agreed lease of six fuel stations owned by Romanian fuel stations chain Aral M.T.B by Azerbaijan's national oil company SOCAR.
"In order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with a normal competitive environment, the competition authority will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation," the Competition Council said in a statement.

The six fuel distribution stations which are located in Arad, Timișsand Sibiu counties are to be operated by Socar based on a ten-year lease.
Socar Petroleum S.A., a company belonging to the Socar group, currently owns a network of 44 national gas stations in Romania.
