February 10 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said on Monday that it will analyse the recent takeover of Ecofarmacia Network by pharmaceutical chain Help Net Farma.
"In order to determine if the concentration is compatible with a normal competitive environment, the competition authority will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation," the Competition Council said in a statement.

Ecofarmacia Network operates 33 pharmacy stores in the central historical region of Transilvania under the Ecofarmacia brand.
Help Net Farma, part of German pharma group Phoenix since April 2018, operates a pharmaceutical chain that has stores across the country. In Romania, Phoenix Group is also present on the wholesale market of pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical products, through Farmexim.
In October, the competition authority cleared the takeover of 33 local pharmacies belonging to Tinos Farm, Flora Farm and Proxi-Pharm by Help Net Farma.
