August 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said on Thursday that it will look into the agreed takeover of local distribution operations of German carmaker Opel by local car importer Trust Motors.
In order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with normal competition environment, the Competition Council will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation, it said in a statement.

Trust Motors will take over the entire activity carried out by Opel on the Romanian market, namely the wholesale distribution of new Opel vehicles as well as the wholesale distribution of Opel and Chevrolet spare parts, all reunited under a new legal entity named Opel Automotive R.
Trust Motors is a Romanian company focused on the import of Citroen, DS and Peugeot cars. Established in 2003, the company is owned by businessman Gheorghe Dolofan.
Opel Automobile GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer, a subsidiary of French automaker Groupe PSA since August 2017.
