October 29 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said on Tuesday it has cleared the recent takeover of 33 local pharmacies belonging to Tinos Farm, Flora Farm and Proxi-Pharm by pharmaceutical chain Help Net Farma.
"Following a review of the transaction, the Competition Council found that it does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition in the market, in particular by establishing or strengthening of a dominant position," the anti-trust regulator said in a statement.

Tinos Farm and Flora Farm operate in the retail trade of pharmaceutical products through specialized stores. The 16 pharmacies, owned by Tinos Farm and Flora Farm, which Help Net will take over are located in Bucharest and Ilfov county.
Help Net will also take over 17 pharmacies from Proxi-Pharm located in Constanta county.
Help Net Farma is part of German pharma group Phoenix since April 2018 and operates a pharmaceutical chain extended throughout the country. In Romania, Phoenix Group is also present on the wholesale market of pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical products, through Farmexim.
