BUCHAREST (Romania), January 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said on Tuesday that it has approved the recent takeover of mineral flat and carbonated water producers Lipomin and Carpatina by spirits manufacturer Prodal 94.
"Following a review of the transaction, the Competition Council has found that it does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition in the market, in particular by establishing or strengthening of a dominant position," the anti-trust body said in a statement.
Lipomin and Carpatina produce bottled mineral water under Lipova and Carpatina brands.
Prodal 94 was founded in 1994 and is part of Romanian business group Prodal. Among its most well-known liquor brands are Stalinskaya Vodka and Wembley Dry Gin.
