July 11 (SeeNews) - Romania's annual consumer price inflation stood at 5.4% in June, at the same level as in the previous month, data from the national statistical office, INS, showed on Wednesday.
Food prices rose 3.86% year-on-year in June, while non-food prices were up 7.82%, INS said in a statement.
Prices of services increased by 2.58% year-on-year in June.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's consumer price index (CPI) edged up by 0.02% in June, as food prices fell 0.24%, non-food prices added 0.14% and prices of services rose 0.20%.
On May 9, Romania's central bank raised its annual inflation forecast for this year to 3.6% from 3.5%, outside of its target band of 1.5-3.5%.
On June 4, BNR maintained its monetary policy rate at 2.50%.
BNR last changed its monetary policy rate on May 7, hiking it to 2.50% from 2.25%, its third rate hike this year.
