January 25 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-government sector in Romanian banks grew 7.1% on the year in December, to 513.2 billion lei ($113.7 billion/104.7 billion euro, after increasing at the same rate in November, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
Leu deposits increased 8.5% on the year in December, reaching 337.9 billion lei, compared to 7.1% growth in November, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits grew 4.4% on the year to 175.3 billion lei in November, after expanding by 6.4% the month before.
