January 27 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 11.5% on the year to 367.7 billion lei ($83 billion/75 billion euro) in December, compared to an annual increase of 9.9% in November, the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
Leu deposits increased 9.7% year-on-year to 241.7 billion lei in December after growing by 7.8% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 15.3% on the year to 126 billion lei in December, after growing by 14% in November.
