May 24 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 9.9% on the year to 337.4 billion lei ($79 billion/71 billion euro) in April, compared to an annual increase of 9.0% in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Leu deposits increased 7.2% year-on-year to 222 billion lei in April after growing by 5.4% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 15.5% on the year to 115.3 billion lei in April, after growing by 16.5% in March.
