August 24 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 10.9% on the year to 310 billion lei ($77 billion/70 billion euro) in July, compared to an annual increase of 12.4% in June, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Leu deposits increased 8.5% year-on-year to 206 billion lei in July, after growing by 11.9% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 16.1% on the year to 103.9 billion lei in July, after growing by 17% in June.
