May 27 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 12.2% on the year to 378.4 billion lei ($85.9 billion/78.1 billion euro) in April, compared to an annual increase of 13.6% in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
Leu deposits increased 8.6% year-on-year to 241.1 billion lei in April after growing by 10.2% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 19% on the year to 137.3 billion lei in April, after growing by 20% in March.
