August 26 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 8.8% on the year to 337.8 billion lei ($79.1 billion/71.5 billion euro) in July, compared to an annual increase of 7.7% in June, the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
Leu deposits increased 6.8% year-on-year to 220.4 billion lei in July after growing by 5.1% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 13% on the year to 117.4 billion lei in July, after growing by 12.9% in June.
