May 24 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits of the non-government sector in Romanian banks grew 10.2% on the year to 277.1 billion lei ($68 billion/61 billion euro) in April, decelerating from an annual rise of 10.6% in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
Leu deposits increased 12.0% year-on-year to 187.7 billion lei in April, after growing 13.5% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
The annual growth of foreign currency deposits accelerated from 4.9% in March to 6.5% in April, when they totalled 89.35 billion lei.
