April 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian poultry meat producer and distributor AAylex Group said on Tuesday that it aims to increase its turnover by 20% this year, to some 781 million lei ($189 million/159 million euro).
AAylex hopes to boost 2021 sales by launching new products and improving its sales strategy, it said in a press release.
The group plans to focus on the same direction as in recent years by opening new production facilities, including through acquisitions. It posted a turnover of 158 million lei in the first quarter of 2021, and consolidated its market position on the fresh poultry meat market.
"We notice a slight revival, compared to the same period last year, accompanied by an increase in public concern for a healthy and balanced diet. Chicken is the most common consumer choice for meals during the week," AAylex Group founder and CEO Bogdan Stanca said, adding that the fresh poultry meat segment will continue to grow until 2030.
In the first three months of the year, Aaylex delivered over 18,000 tonnes of poultry meat products, of which some 30% went to export.
Aaylex Group is a privately owned Romanian corporate conglomerate whose main business units are Avicola Buzau, Aaylex Prod and Aaylex Distribution. It employs over 2,000 in its production units located in Bucharest and nine counties. Its best known local brand is Coco Rico.
In 2020, the group booked a consolidated turnover of 651 million lei.
In March, the group announced that it has invested 15 million euro ($17.8 million) in a new unit for the production of chicken sausages and aims to distribute its new product in Romania and abroad.
