BUCHAREST (Romania), November 8 (SeeNews) – New passenger hybrid electric car registrations in Romania more than doubled to 1,469 in the first nine months of 2017, from 684 in the prior-year period, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, ACEA, said on Wednesday.
There were 97 electric battery-powered vehicles registered in Romania in the first nine months of 2017, up from 23 as at end-September 2016, ACEA said in a press release.

Data on registration of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles during the review period in Romania was unavailable.
Total registrations of alternative fuel vehicles in Romania surged to 1,566 in the nine months through September from 107 in the year-ago period.
In the EU, total alternative fuel vehicles registrations rose 42.1% on the year to 629,228 in the first nine months of 2017. Total electric chargeable vehicle registrations in the EU increased by an annual 43.6% to 153,694 , while hybrid electric vehicle registrations rose 60.6% year-on-year to 324,678 in the review period.
