November 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's current account deficit increased to 2.66 billion euro ($2.86 billion) in the first nine months of the year from 1.09 million euro for the same period of 2015, the central bank said on Monday.
The goods balance and primary income balance recorded increased shortfalls, up by 1.36 billion euro and 844 million euro, respectively, while the surplus on services balance and that on secondary income widened by 639 million euro and 12 million euro, respectively.
The high deficit comes from the increased shortfall in the goods balance, mainly influenced by a 25% increase in Romania's nine-month trade gap to 6.93 billion euro, data from the bank showed.
