May 27 (SeeNews) - S.C. Terapia, a Romanian subsidiary of India’s Sun Pharma, said on Friday it acquired from Romania’s Fiterman Pharma its Uractiv range, a brand portfolio generating annual revenues of approximately $8.7 million (8.1 million euro), for an undisclosed price.
The portfolio, which comprises 12 products, caters to both children and adults, Sun Pharma said in a press release.

The transaction is pending regulatory approvals.
"We are excited to add UractivTM to our consumer healthcare portfolio in Romania. This acquisition is in line with our strategy to further expand our non-prescription product basket in Romania and neighbouring markets,” said Aalok Shanghvi, EVP & HeadGeneric R&D, Generic Global BD and Emerging Markets, Sun Pharma.
S.C. Terapia is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Cluj, Romania, which has been a subsidiary of Sun Pharma since 2015. According to the latest data held by the finance ministry, the company recorded 179.7 million lei ($38.9 million/36.3 million euro) in profit in 2021, a decrease over the previous year’s 222.8 million lei. Its turnover for 2021 was 845.1 million lei, as compared to 791 million lei it booked in 2020.
Founded in 1995, Fiterman Pharma is a pharmaceutical company based in Iasi, Romania. Based on the latest data held by the finance ministry, the company recorded a net profit of 21.4 million lei, an increase over 2019’s 15.2 million lei. Similarly, the company also recorded a turnover of 189.6 million lei in 2020, an increase over the previous year's 139.3 million lei.
