January 12 (SeeNews) - Romanian startup DRUID, specialised in developing intelligent virtual assistants (chatbots) for companies, said on Tuesday it has attracted a $2.5 million (2.05 million euro) Series A investment.
The investment round was led by GapMinder Ventures fund with $2.2 million, while the remainder was invested by Early Game Ventures and private investors, DRUID said in a press release.
"The new round of financing will be used to launch new conversational automations, to further develop artificial intelligence components, and to accelerate international expansion. DRUID’s ambition is to become the most important conversational AI provider from Europe and to deliver a virtual assistant for every employee," DRUID CEO Liviu Dragan said.
Following the investment, DRUID has become one of the best capitalized startups in Romania, with total investments worth $5.8 million dollars attracted since its launch in 2018.
DRUID is an AI conversational technology company that develops intelligent virtual assistants for enterprise organizations. In less than two years since its launch, Druid already has over 50 enterprise customers in Romania. Virtual assistants using DRUID conversational technology help companies such as AXA Group, McDonald’s China, Texas Children’s Hospital US, Saint Gobain UK, Griffith University Australia, Servier Germany, NASDAQ Sweden, according to the press release.
