January 19 (SeeNews) - Food delivery platform foodpanda Romania said on Tuesday that it has signed a partnership with local pharmacy chain Help Net for the delivery of products.
Initially, the delivery service will be available for Help Net pharmacies in Bucharest and Ilfov county, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Galati and Oradea, foodpanda said in a press release.
By the end of the third quarter, deliveries will be extended to 27 cities across the country.
"Through the partnership with the Help Net pharmacy network, we continue to expand the product categories available in the foodpanda app for fast delivery, opening a very important new business vertical," foodpanda Romania managing director Andreea Petrisor said.
Under the partnership, foodpanda users will be able to order over 2,000 products that do not need medical prescription, sold by Help Net.
Foodpanda Romania is part of Germany-based Delivery Hero Group which operates in more than 40 markets. In Romania, foodpanda is currently collaborating with more than 6,000 restaurants in 38 cities.
Help Net Farma, part of German pharma group Phoenix since August 2018, operates more than 400 pharmacies across the country. In Romania, Phoenix Group is also present on the wholesale market of pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical products, through Farmexim.
