November 22 (SeeNews) - Romania-based online retailer eMAG generated 55.9 million levs ($32.3 million/28.6 million euro) in Black Friday sales in Bulgaria, a 17% increase on an annual comparison basis, the company's local unit said on Monday.
Some 382,000 products were sold during eMAG's Black Friday campaign in Bulgaria, eMAG Bulgaria said in a statement.
The results confirm the main trend in the development of e-commerce in Bulgaria - consolidation of orders from one destination for different types of purchases and integration of online shopping into the daily habits of customers, the statement read.
Last week, eMAG said it will open a new showroom in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv.
The online retailer opened its first two showrooms in Bulgaria in September 2020 and October 2021, respectively. Both stores are located in Sofia - in shopping malls Serdika Center and Paradise Center.
The online retailer, founded in 2001, entered the local market in 2012. Currently, eMAG has a portfolio of over 1.25 million products in Bulgaria.
