May 21 (SeeNews) - Romanian online retailer elefant.ro said on Monday it has transformed its pick-up point in Moldova's capital Chisinau into a showroom.
Following the expansion, customers will be able to buy products sold exclusively in the showroom and also to pick-up products they ordered online, the online retailer said in a press release.
"The development of Chisinau operations demonstrates the seriousness and dedication with which Elefant approaches the Moldovan market, the desire to invest locally and to offer its customers eCommerce services at a level similar to that of European countries," Fribourg Capital president Ion Sturza said. Investment fund Fribourg Capital is a major shareholder in Elefant.
elefant.ro expanded to Moldova in 2016, after opening a pick-up point and a dedicated website for orders.
elefant.ro is one of the largest online retailers in Romania, with over 600,000 customers and 15 delivery points countrywide.
It was founded in 2010 through an investment of about 1.2 million euro ($1.4 million) from Greenlight Invest (now Fribourg Capital), one of the investment funds controlled by Ion Sturza, former deputy general manager of Rompetrol and former prime minister of Moldova.
