September 15 (SeeNews) - Romanian online bookstore Libris said on Thursday it has invested 300,000 euro ($300,182) in a solar energy installation for its Brasov warehouse.
The investment involved the installation of 835 solar panels on a surface area of 4,000 sqm, producing 330,000 kWh annually, the company said in a press release.

The panels will supply 95% of the warehouse's annual energy needs.
"We made the decision to finance the entire investment with our own funds, and given the increased energy independence, we predict that it will be repaid in no more than five years," Libris CEO Laura Teposu said.
"We considered using external financing, but we chose to move more swiftly and complete the project this summer in order to get the system up and running as soon as possible."
Libris is a Romanian online books retailer founded in 1992. In 2021, it booked a net profit of 2.31 million lei ($469,720/469,434 euro) and a turnover of 65.55 million lei, data posted on the finance ministry's website showed. The company currently employs 115 people.
