December 12 (SeeNews) - The Romanian leu softened in morning trading following the expected victory of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in the country's parliamentary elections on Sunday, data from the central bank showed on Monday.
Romania's central bank, BNR, set its reference exchange rate at 4.5067 lei per euro on Monday, compared to 4.4985 lei per euro on Friday.
Romania's currency slipped 0.18% to 4.5067 against the euro, and lost 0.33% against the dollar, to 4.2530 by Monday noon, BNR data indicated.
The leu changed hands between 4.5016 and 4.5092 against the single currency during the trading session, real-time interbank FX data published by local portal Conso.ro indicated.
