BUCHAREST (Romania), August 30 (SeeNews) – Romanian IT&C and electronics retailer Altex said on Wednesday it will open a new store in Dorohoi, Botosani county, in the country's northern part.
With the new 600 sq m store, to open on Thursday, the number of Altex outlets in Romania will increase to 98, the company said in a press release.
"By opening this store, we offer Dorohoi residents access to modern, affordable technology. The store provides an extensive range of products, a team of specialists ready to advise on the choice of the most suitable technological solutions and special promotions," Altex Romania retail manager Daniel Mirea said.
The new store is part of Altex's buy-back programme that offers a discount in exchange for bringing in an old household product.
Altex employs 2,000 in 98 stores across Romania under the brands Altex and Media Galaxy, and an online store.
In 2016 the retailer's net profit more than doubled to 39.7 billion lei ($10.3 million/8.64 billion euro), while turnover jumped 40% on the year to 2.74 billion lei.
