BUCHAREST (Romania), May 5 (SeeNews) – Romanian IT&C and electronics retailer Altex said on Wednesday that it has invested 1 million euro ($1.2 million) to modernise two stores in Bucharest and Brasov.
Following the investment, the two stores have a bigger commercial area and are completely digitalised, Altex said in a press release.
"We have a comprehensive investment plan, which aims to secure a complete omnichannel experience in all Altex stores in Romania," Altex Romania commercial director Edvin Abdulachim said.
The investment is part of a massive expansion plan announced by Altex in June. Under the plan, the company intends to invest over 27 million euro this year to expand and modernise its network of stores and logistics centers.
Last month, Altex opened two new stores in the eastern town of Husi and in the western town of Hateg following a total investment of 3.5 million euro.
Altex employs over 4,000 in its 131 stores across Romania under the brands Altex and Media Galaxy. It also operates two online stores.
At the beginning of October, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved a 12 million euro loan to Altex to finance up to 70.5% of the cost of a logistics centre in Dragomiresti Vale, Ilfov county.
