May 4 (SeeNews) - Romanian game developer Amber posted a 56% y/y increase in turnover in 2021, to $30.5 million (28.98 million euro), as the full amount was generated abroad, mostly in the U.S., the company said.
Game development accounted for 70% of turnover, the company said in a press release on Tuesday.
The remaining 30% were generated by development support services, such as quality assurance, customer support, as well as localisation.
“We have outperformed our revenue estimates for 2021 by 10% and closed the year with the highest turnover ever recorded by an independent gaming studio in Romania," Amber CEO Jaime Gine said.
In September, Amber said it was aiming at a 36% rise in turnover in 2021, to $28 million.
"We expect our growth to accelerate in 2022 to match the growing demand for Amber’s services,” Gine added.

In 2022, the company expects to uphold its growth rate, aiming to expand its international team with 100 staff. Amber currently employs 1,000.
