BUCHAREST (Romania), April 29 (SeeNews) – Romanian cosmetics producer Farmec said on Wednesday it has started producing biocides for personal and medical use.
Farmec will be able to produce 650,000 bottles of hand sanitizer lotion and 700,000 bottles of hand and surface disinfectants monthly, it said in a press release.
"In the current context, we have organised all our resources and adapted our production lines, prioritising sanitising, disinfectant and antibacterial products to meet the needs and requirements of the market, and in particular of the institutions fighting in the first line against the spread of the new COVID-19 virus," Farmec general manager Mircea Turdean said.
Farmec is headquartered in the northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca, where it has a production plant with over 600 employees.
The company's local brand chain of stores comprises eight Farmec stores, 20 Gerovital stores and two framcise-stores.
Farmec's products are present in over 30 markets, the biggest being Japan, Hungary, Greece, North Macedonia, Moldova, UAE, Iraq, Kuwait and Canada.
